Usage Guide
This guide describes how Relay is intended to be used, what you need for a good experience, and practices that keep your library and devices safe. It supplements the Terms of Service.
What Relay is for
Relay is an album-first music player for people who keep libraries in Plex. Use it to browse and play the music you are entitled to access through your Plex account—typically media you own or have licensed—on supported iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
What you need
- A Plex account and access to a Plex Media Server (or Plex-provided access) that you are allowed to use;
- A network connection suitable for streaming or syncing from your library;
- A compatible device and OS version as listed in the App Store or Google Play.
Your content and responsibility
Relay displays and plays what your Plex server exposes to your account. You are responsible for the legality of your media, for complying with Plex’s terms, and for respecting copyright and licensing where you live. Relay does not upload your files to us for hosting as a music catalog.
Sign-in and security
- Use strong passwords and device security features (passcode, biometrics) where available;
- Sign out on shared devices if others should not access your library;
- Do not share app credentials in a way that violates Plex’s or your own policies.
Acceptable use
Use Relay in line with the Terms of Service. In particular:
- Do not use Relay to infringe intellectual property or to distribute content you do not have rights to;
- Do not interfere with Relay, Plex, or other users’ services;
- Do not rely on Relay for life-safety or critical systems—it is a consumer music app.
Updates and changes
We may ship app updates through the stores to fix issues, add features, or meet platform requirements. Some behavior may depend on Plex API or server capabilities; those can change outside our control.
Support
For product questions, contact Total Team through totalteam.io. For Plex connectivity, library, or account issues, consult Plex support.
Apple App Store
If you installed Relay from the Apple App Store, you may also have rights under Apple’s standard end user license agreement. In the event of conflict, Apple’s terms apply only to the extent required by Apple; your contractual relationship for Relay remains with Total Team as described in our Terms of Service.
